Claude Skills for Reflect

Pause execution and zoom out from detail-mode to honestly reassess direction, assumptions, and blind spots. Get a frank 5-dimension analysis ending with a specific recommendation: continue, pivot, or stop.

Up and Running in 3 Steps

Pure-reasoning skill, no external tools. Works in Claude Code CLI and Claude web natively.

01

Open the GitHub Repo

Head to the Infrasity Labs GitHub repo for the Claude Skills collection. All notion skills live in the notion-skills folder.

Step 1: Open the GitHub repo
02

Download the ZIP File and Open the Folder

Click Code and select Download ZIP. Unzip the archive and open the folder so you can see the individual skill directories inside.

Step 2: Download the ZIP and open the folder
03

Navigate to the Skill and Compress It

Open the notion-skills directory, find the skill you want to install, and compress that specific folder into a ZIP file.

Step 3: Navigate to skill folder and compress it
04

Open Claude and Go to Customize, then Skills

Launch Claude on desktop or web, click your profile, go to Customize Claude, then open the Skills tab.

Step 4: Open Claude Skills settings
05

Add the Skill from Your Directory

Click Add Skill, select the ZIP you just created, and confirm. The skill is now active and ready to use in any Claude conversation.

Step 5: Add the skill from your directory
06

Run the Skill

Open a new Claude conversation, type your trigger command, and the skill runs. Your output is ready within seconds.

Step 6: Run the reflect skill in Claude

What the Reflect skill actually is?

A hard stop and honest reassessment, not a recap of what you just did.

When triggered, the skill halts the current task entirely and re-reads the full conversation from the original goal forward, not just recent turns. It then runs a 5-dimension analysis: macro perspective (original goal vs current drift), gap analysis (unverified assumptions, missing stakeholders), reflective inquiry (is the problem framed correctly?), bias check (five specific biases named and evidenced), and contextual alignment.

The output is flowing prose with no headers, no bullet points. The analysis reads as a frank, direct assessment with specific evidence from the conversation, not a structured report, not vague reassurance. When the path is solid, it says so with specific reasons. When something is wrong, it names it with evidence and suggests a corrective move.

Every run ends with exactly one of three closing recommendations: Continue (path is solid), Pivot to X (drift has occurred or a better path surfaced), or Pause for Q (a specific question needs answering before continuing). No hedging, no 'think more about this'.

When it Triggers?

Explicit triggers: 'reflect', 'take a step back', 'zoom out', 'are we missing something', 'bigger picture', 'sanity check this', 'are we on track', 'are we overthinking this', 'forest for the trees'. For implicit signals: 10+ deep implementation turns without a strategic check-in, or signs of being stuck. The skill offers to run rather than auto-invoking.

The skill is intentionally low-intake. When invoked mid-conversation with normal context, it runs the full 5-dimension analysis immediately without asking questions. It only asks one optional clarifying question when the invocation has genuinely thin context, for example, 'step back' at the very start of a fresh conversation.

How Reflect works

Halt first. Then re-read everything from the beginning, not just recent turns.

01

Halt

Stop the current execution thread completely. Do not continue the in-progress task on the side, continuing detail work while reflecting defeats the purpose.

02

Optional clarifier

Ask one question only when invocation context is too thin to reassess from. Skip in most cases, mid-conversation invocations have enough context to run immediately.

03

Macro Perspective

Re-read the full conversation from the original goal forward. Identify what the user actually started trying to do, detect drift with specific evidence, and check whether current work connects to the larger objective.

04

Gap & Bias Analysis

Surface unverified assumptions, missing stakeholders, and skipped constraints. Check for five specific biases: confirmation bias, sunk cost fallacy, anchoring, complexity bias, and recency bias, naming and evidencing each one found.

05

Closing Recommendation

End with one of exactly three recommendations: Continue (path is solid, give specific reasons), Pivot to X (drift or better path found, cite evidence), or Pause for Q (name the question and the cost of not answering it).

The five analysis dimensions

Covered in flowing prose. The format is part of the discipline, no headers, no bullet lists.

Macro Perspective: Original goal, drift detection with specific evidence ('At turn 3 the goal was X; by turn 12 we're working on Y'), and a judgment on whether the drift is productive narrowing or going off course.

Gap Analysis: Unverified assumptions being taken for granted, missing stakeholders who need this, skipped constraints, and paths that were dismissed early and might be worth revisiting.

Reflective Inquiry: Is the problem framed correctly? Is there a simpler path being overcomplicated? A harder but more valuable path being avoided? What would a fresh set of eyes see?

Bias Check: Five biases reviewed with recognition cues: confirmation bias, sunk cost fallacy, anchoring on the first option, complexity bias (adding steps without justification), and recency bias (over-weighting recent turns).

Contextual Alignment: Does the current direction serve the user's actual goals? Are external factors being ignored? Is this the best use of their time and energy right now?

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about installing and running these Claude Skills.

The reflect skill pauses the current conversation, re-reads everything from the original goal forward, and produces a frank 5-dimension analysis: macro perspective and drift detection, gap analysis, reflective inquiry on problem framing, a bias check naming and evidencing any of 5 specific biases found, and contextual alignment. It ends with exactly one closing recommendation: Continue, Pivot to X, or Pause for Q.
Flowing prose with no headers, no bullet points. The analysis reads as a direct, honest assessment with specific evidence from the conversation, the same way a trusted advisor would give you a frank opinion. When the path is solid, it says so with reasons. When something is wrong, it names it and suggests a corrective move.
Continue means the path is solid, specific reasoning is provided. Pivot to X means drift has occurred or a better path has surfaced, the pivot is named, evidence is cited, and what to drop is specified. Pause for Q means a specific question needs answering before continuing, the question is named and the cost of not answering it is stated. No run ends without one of these three.
Confirmation bias (evidence cited only supports the working hypothesis), sunk cost fallacy (decisions justified by prior investment), anchoring (stuck on the first option mentioned), complexity bias (adding features or steps without specific justification), and recency bias (over-weighting recent turns while ignoring older context). Each detected bias is named, evidenced from the conversation, and paired with a corrective move.
Yes. Reflect is a pure-reasoning skill with no external tools required. It works in Claude Code CLI and Claude.ai web natively, making it the most portable skill in the Notion collection.
