Claude Skills for Inbox

Full email triage system in one command. Setup builds a 7-file personalized knowledge base. Triage classifies emails, researches senders, drafts replies, and delivers a color-coded report, and never sends without approval.

Up and Running in 3 Steps

First run walks you through a one-time setup interview. Every run after goes straight to triage.

01

Open the GitHub Repo

Head to the Infrasity Labs GitHub repo for the Claude Skills collection. All notion skills live in the notion-skills folder.

Step 1: Open the GitHub repo
02

Download the ZIP File and Open the Folder

Click Code and select Download ZIP. Unzip the archive and open the folder so you can see the individual skill directories inside.

Step 2: Download the ZIP and open the folder
03

Navigate to the Skill and Compress It

Open the notion-skills directory, find the skill you want to install, and compress that specific folder into a ZIP file.

Step 3: Navigate to skill folder and compress it
04

Open Claude and Go to Customize, then Skills

Launch Claude on desktop or web, click your profile, go to Customize Claude, then open the Skills tab.

Step 4: Open Claude Skills settings
05

Add the Skill from Your Directory

Click Add Skill, select the ZIP you just created, and confirm. The skill is now active and ready to use in any Claude conversation.

Step 5: Add the skill from your directory
06

Run the Skill

Open a new Claude conversation, type your trigger command, and the skill runs. Your output is ready within seconds.

Step 6: Run the inbox skill in Claude

What the Inbox skill actually is?

A two-mode personal email assistant. Setup once, triage forever.

When first invoked, the skill detects that no knowledge base exists and runs a structured setup interview: 8 sections, one question at a time, ~25-31 questions total. It builds a 7-file KB covering your email taxonomy, reply voice and tone, evaluation framework for opportunities, rate card if applicable, blocklist, active thread tracker, and triage log directory. Each section commits its files before moving on.

On every subsequent run, it skips setup and goes straight to triage: searches email within the configured window, classifies each message against your taxonomy, researches new senders, generates TAKE IT / WORTH CONSIDERING / PASS / FLAG recommendations, drafts replies in your voice, and delivers a color-coded HTML report.

The non-negotiable rule: this skill creates drafts. It never sends. A post-run validator scans the action log for any send-shaped tool call and fails if it finds one. You review every draft before anything leaves your email client.

When it Triggers?

Setup triggers: 'set up my inbox', 'configure inbox triage', 'build my email knowledge base'. Triage triggers: 'triage my inbox', 'inbox triage', 'check my email', 'process my inbox'. The skill auto-detects which mode to run. No need to remember which version to invoke.

Use `/notion inbox update` to refresh your preferences without re-running the full setup. Update mode walks only the sections whose KB files you choose to update and skips the rest.

How Inbox works

State detection first. Then setup or triage, depending on what the KB says.

01

State Detection

Check for the KB at ${WORKSPACE}/Email/. If absent, run Setup Mode. If present, run Triage Mode. If the argument is 'update', run Update Mode.

02

Setup Interview

Walk 8 sections one at a time: Big Picture → Email Categories → Reply Style and Voice (with real sent-email samples) → Evaluation Framework → Blocklist → Current State → Report Preferences → Confirmation. Each section commits its KB file before the next begins.

03

Email Search

Pull emails within the configured window from Gmail, Outlook, or IMAP via the appropriate MCP. Also search starred unread items. Window is 26h for daily cadence, 9h for 2x daily, 6h for 3x daily.

04

Classify & Research

Apply your taxonomy to each message. For new senders, check blocklist, tracker, and prior triage logs, then web search for legitimacy on opportunity senders.

05

Recommend & Draft

Apply evaluation-framework.md to generate TAKE IT / WORTH CONSIDERING / PASS / FLAG for each email. Draft replies in your voice from email-patterns.md. No draft is generated for FLAG emails.

06

Report & Update KB

Deliver a color-coded triage report: overview, stats, action needed, quick reference, and detailed cards. Append new declined senders to blocklist, update tracker, and save a run log to triage-log/.

The four recommendations

Each one tells you exactly what to do and how urgent it is.

TAKE IT: Meets your engagement criteria. Engage immediately. A reply draft is ready in your email client.

WORTH CONSIDERING: Has potential but needs your judgment. A draft is available to edit, don't send without reviewing.

PASS: Doesn't meet criteria. A polite decline is drafted: one to three sentences on why, no hedging promises.

FLAG FOR REVIEW: Unusual case that needs your direct decision. No draft generated, this one requires your full attention before acting.

The knowledge base system

Seven files written during setup. Updated after every triage run.

  • ·email-taxonomy.md: your categories, triage cadence, and report format
  • ·email-patterns.md: reply register, tone rules, sentence templates, and phrases to never use
  • ·evaluation-framework.md: your decision logic for opportunity emails
  • ·rate-card.md: your pricing and terms, referenced when emails ask about rates
  • ·blocklist.md: senders and patterns to skip without opening
  • ·tracker.md: open threads, promised callbacks, and upcoming deadlines
  • ·triage-log/: one log file per run, kept for pattern review after 5+ runs

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about installing and running these Claude Skills.

The inbox skill is a two-mode email triage system. The first run builds a personalized knowledge base through an 8-section interview: one question at a time, ~25-31 questions total. Every subsequent run skips setup and goes straight to triage: searching emails, classifying them against your taxonomy, researching new senders, generating TAKE IT / WORTH / PASS / FLAG recommendations, drafting replies, and delivering a color-coded report.
No, never. The skill creates drafts only, this is non-negotiable. A post-run validator scans the action log for any send-shaped tool call and fails if it finds one. You review every draft before anything leaves your email client.
The KB is 7 files written to ${WORKSPACE}/Email/: email-taxonomy.md (your classification system), email-patterns.md (reply voice, tone, templates, hard rules), evaluation-framework.md (decision tree for opportunities), rate-card.md (your pricing and terms, if applicable), blocklist.md (auto-skip senders), tracker.md (active threads and deadlines), and triage-log/ (per-run logs). After 5+ runs, the skill reviews patterns and suggests turning recurring declines into auto-skips.
During setup Section 3, it asks for your register, pet peeves, phrases you always use, and your hard rules. Most importantly, it asks you to paste 3-5 real sent emails, which it analyzes to extract your actual patterns rather than relying on your self-description of your voice.
Gmail via Gmail MCP, Outlook and Microsoft 365 via Outlook MCP, and IMAP-based providers like Fastmail and ProtonMail via IMAP MCP. If no email tool is registered for the session, the skill halts with a clear message rather than running without email access.
