What the Blog SEO Check skill actually is?

The Blog SEO Check skill is a post-writing gate. You point it at a completed blog post, and it runs a comprehensive on-page SEO validation, producing a pass/fail checklist where each failure ships with a specific fix telling you what to change and where.

It reads the file and extracts frontmatter, the full heading structure, every internal and external link with its anchor text, the meta and social tags, and the body content. If you hand it a URL instead of a file path, it fetches the live page and pulls the same elements.

Coverage spans title tag length and keyword placement, meta description quality, heading hierarchy and keyword density, internal and external link audits with anchor-text analysis and deduplication, canonical URL verification, Open Graph and Twitter Card tags, URL structure, and image alt text. The output is a prioritized fix list ranked by impact.

When it Triggers?

Invoke it after writing, before publishing, with phrases like "seo check", "check seo", "validate seo", "blog seo", "on-page seo", "title tag check", "heading check", or "link audit". It takes the path to the post you want validated as its argument.

Each check resolves to PASS, FAIL with a fix, WARN for edge cases, or N/A when a check does not apply, for example Twitter Card tags on a site with no X account. Validates a single H1, no skipped levels, keyword presence, 60 to 70 percent question-format H2s, and 6 to 8 sections. Audits 3 to 10 descriptive internal links, deduplicates repeated URLs, and checks at least three external links to tier 1 to 3 sources.

Canonical, OG, and Twitter

Verifies a self-referencing absolute canonical URL with consistent trailing slashes, the full Open Graph set including a 1200x630 image and article type, and the Twitter Card set using summary_large_image with valid title, description, and image.

URL structure and report

Confirms a short lowercase keyword-rich slug with no dates, special characters, stop words, or file extensions, then outputs a validation report with a pass count, a results table, and a ranked list of priority fixes.
