What the Blog Persona skill actually is?

A voice manager that turns brand tone into enforceable writing constraints

The Blog Persona skill creates, stores, and enforces writing personas based on the NNGroup 4-dimension tone framework and the CMI Brand Voice Chart. Personas ensure a consistent voice across all content produced by blog-write and blog-rewrite. It offers four commands: create, list, use, and show.

A persona captures four tone dimensions on 0.0 to 1.0 sliders (funny-serious, formal-casual, respectful-irreverent, enthusiastic-matter-of-fact) plus concrete style rules: readability band, sentence length mean and standard deviation, contraction frequency, a passive-voice cap, vocabulary tier, a summary box label, and 3 to 5 do and dont items.

Vocabulary tier drives readability: Consumer maps to Flesch grade 6 to 8, Professional to 8 to 10, and Technical to 10 to 12, auto-filled but overridable. The completed profile is saved as JSON in kebab-case, ready for the writer agents to load.

When it Triggers?

The skill activates on phrases like "persona", "voice", "tone", "writing style", "brand voice", "create persona", or "use persona". Create runs a 6-step interactive interview; list, use, and show operate on saved persona files.

Once you run /blog persona use <name>, the persona stays active for the session. Blog-write and blog-rewrite check for the active persona before generating content, loading its tone dimensions and style rules into the writer agent's system prompt.

NNGroup tone dimensions

Captures four tone sliders from 0.0 to 1.0: funny-serious, formal-casual, respectful-irreverent, and enthusiastic-matter-of-fact, each explained with examples at both ends. Defaults to a balanced profile when the user is unsure.

Style and readability rules

Sets a vocabulary tier (Consumer, Professional, Technical) that auto-fills the matching Flesch band, plus sentence length mean and std, contraction frequency, and a passive-voice cap. Technical maps to grade 10 to 12, Professional to 8 to 10, Consumer to 6 to 8.

Do and dont rules with voice samples

Collects 3 to 5 do and dont items from the CMI Brand Voice Chart and an optional 1 to 3 URLs of exemplar content. Sample URLs are read to extract sentence length, contraction frequency, tone, and vocabulary, with mismatches flagged.

Enforcement in blog-write and blog-rewrite

Injects the persona into the writer's system prompt, then validates output: sentence length within 1 std of target, readability inside the grade band, passive voice under the cap, and no dont-rule violations found by pattern matching.
