What the Blog Locale Audit skill actually is?

Blog Locale Audit scans a directory of multilingual blog content to ensure every language version is complete, consistent, correctly tagged, and SEO-optimized. It catches international content issues before they hurt rankings.

It begins by discovering and grouping posts by language using subdirectory names, frontmatter `lang` and `translatedFrom` fields, and any `hreflang-map.json` present, then builds a content matrix showing which post exists in which languages and computes coverage.

From there it runs parity, SEO, hreflang, and freshness audits: it checks section, FAQ, image, and chart counts, word-count ratios per language pair, title and meta length, schema inLanguage and translationOfWork, hreflang self-referencing and return tags, and flags translations that are stale because the source changed or they exceed ninety days.

When it Triggers?

It activates on phrases like "locale audit", "blog locale-audit", "check translations", "multilingual audit", "translation check", or "hreflang check".

You point it at a directory of multilingual content. It reports markdown by default and writes an HTML report when you pass `--html`. If only one language is present it reports coverage and suggests targets; if no hreflang files exist it flags that as a critical gap and offers regeneration.

Completeness, content parity, SEO parity, hreflang correctness, and freshness across a directory of multilingual posts. It builds a coverage matrix, compares structural counts, validates hreflang and schema, and flags stale translations with runnable fix commands.
It groups posts by language using subdirectory names like en, de, and fr, frontmatter lang and translatedFrom fields, and the hreflang-map.json file if present, then detects the source language from the most common translatedFrom target.
Mismatched H2 and H3 section counts, FAQ counts, image and chart counts, citation-capsule counts per section, frontmatter parity, and word-count ratios outside the expected band for a language pair, for example German running twenty to thirty percent longer than English.

A summary with an overall health score out of one hundred, critical and warning counts, the coverage matrix, issues grouped by severity, prioritized fixes, stale-translation alerts with commands, and quick fixes. Pass --html to also write an HTML version.
