The Ogilvy Copywriting skill applies David Ogilvy's advertising principles when you write, review, or critique any copy with a sales or persuasion goal: headlines, product descriptions, landing pages, ads, emails, or video scripts. Everything is derived from Ogilvy's own source material: How to Create Advertising That Sells, Ogilvy on Advertising, and Confessions of an Advertising Man. The skill encodes his hierarchy of decisions, where positioning comes first, the promise second, and brand image third. Later choices only matter if the earlier ones are right.

The guiding rule is that the product is the hero. Successful advertising sells without drawing attention to itself, so the skill steers you toward specific facts, a single deliverable promise, and a big idea simple enough to last for years.
