The skill reads your profile.md and resume from the data directory and the specific job description from the URL, then generates a letter that references concrete details from your background and the role. The quality depends on how complete your profile.md is. A detailed profile produces a specific, personalized letter; a sparse one produces something closer to a template.

Yes, and you should. The skill produces a first draft, not a finished letter. Review it for accuracy (it occasionally misattributes details), tone (adjust to sound more like you), and any company-specific context you want to add. The draft gives you a strong starting point; your edits take it to publishable quality.

The skill falls back to a manual input mode where you paste the job description text directly. This handles postings behind login walls, postings shared as PDFs, or internal job listings that aren't publicly indexed. The output quality is the same regardless of whether input comes from a URL or pasted text.
