How to Fetch Reddit Threads for Your GEO Prompts Using Content Hub MCP

Infrasity TeamLast updated October 28, 2026

Retrieve the Reddit threads cached for each prompt in a GEO cluster over Content Hub MCP, check how fresh and complete the cache is, and choose the threads worth a reply.

Estimated time: About 3 minutes

The Reddit Threads page finds discussions that match your tracked prompts, so you can show up in conversations buyers are already having. Content Hub keeps the results for each prompt in a 24-hour cache. When Claude Desktop is connected over MCP, you can read that cache directly: post title, subreddit, upvotes, comment count, and age. The tool only reads the cache. It never calls Reddit, so it is safe to run as often as you like.

Before you start, confirm the following:

  • Claude Desktop is connected to Content Hub over MCP. See the Content Hub MCP setup guide.
  • Your organization has a GEO cluster with prompts, and the Reddit Threads page or the daily job has loaded them at least once.

Fetch the threads for one prompt

Request the Reddit threads cached for "best developer marketing agency for AI startups" in the Developer Marketing cluster for the Infrasity organization.

Claude reports when the prompt was cached and whether it is stale. This one was cached 6 hours ago, so it is still fresh. Each prompt carries two lists:

  • Reddit threads come from a Reddit search. Each row has the title, subreddit, upvotes, comments, and age. For this prompt, there are four threads, led by an r/startups thread with 412 upvotes and 138 comments, 9 days old.
  • Google results for site:reddit.com come from a Google search limited to Reddit. They have no age, and the vote and comment counts are parsed from the result snippet, so treat them as approximate.

Check how complete the cache is

Request how complete the Reddit cache is for that cluster.

The Developer Marketing cluster has 40 prompts and the cache covers 38 of them, which is 95%. Claude splits the cache into three groups:

  • 36 are fresh, cached within the last 24 hours.
  • 2 are stale, older than 24 hours. Claude lists each with its cache time and thread count.
  • 2 have no cache entry yet, "devtools marketing agency" and "open source marketing agency".

An empty prompt does not mean the topic has no threads. It means the dashboard or the daily job has not loaded that prompt yet. To refresh a prompt, open the Reddit Threads page, or run a live Reddit Scout search.

Request takeaways

Request takeaways on the Reddit data.

Claude returns four findings:

  • Two threads are worth a reply this week. The r/startups thread is still active and asks for exactly the recommendation your prompt targets. The r/devrel thread is newer and has fewer answers to compete with.
  • Prioritize the fresh threads. A 34-day-old thread rarely sees new comments.
  • Your cache is in good shape. 38 of 40 prompts are cached and 36 are fresh.
  • This is a prompt list, not a citation list. These threads discuss your prompts. They are not necessarily the threads that engines cite.

Claude then offers to pull the cited threads for the same cluster.

Use this tool to choose threads, and use Reddit Scout citations to see which threads engines already quote. The two answer different questions: where buyers are talking, and where AI is listening.

Open app.infrasity.com and retrieve the Reddit threads for a cluster in your own organization to see where your prompts are already being discussed.
